States are demanding funds without resolving interstate water disputes

Hyderabad, June 23 (Namaste Telangana): The central government has been taking unilateral decisions without resolving interstate water disputes regarding the Godavari-Kaveri rivers. The national water development agency, which is implementing the national water policy against the opinions of the states from the beginning, is not giving any response to the demands of the states regarding the development of interstate waters in the recent meetings. It is demanding an answer to the water disputes without giving any solution.

In the 71st council meeting held on July 11, this issue was discussed. Letters were sent to Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana along with other riparian states. Furthermore, officials from the Water Resources Department of the Ministry of Water Resources are expressing a desire for cooperation from all states.
