India has joined the Artemis Accords, which is a group of countries that focus on civil space exploration. The White House announced that NASA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) will work together on a mission to the International Space Station in 2024. The Artemis Accords are a set of non-binding principles that are based on the Outer Space Treaty of 1967. This American-led effort aims to return humans to the moon by 2025 and expand space exploration to Mars and beyond. NASA and ISRO are developing a strategic framework for human spaceflight cooperation this year.
On semiconductors, US companies are partnering with India to build a semiconductor ecosystem that promotes supply chain diversification. Micron Technology announced an investment of over $800 million in a semiconductor assembly and test facility in India. Together with financial support from Indian authorities, this will amount to a $2.75 billion project.
