    On Tuesday, the southern parts of Telangana State in India received moderate rainfall from the Southwest Monsoon. However, some Northern and Eastern parts of the country are still experiencing heat waves. The India Meteorological Department in Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert for the next five days, as thunderstorms and lightning may occur in a few districts of the State. The affected areas include Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Medchal Malkajigiri, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Jogulamba, and Gadwal districts.

    Nalgonda’s Chandampet received the highest rainfall at 53.5 mm on Tuesday. Interestingly, Nalgonda also recorded the highest temperature at 44.4 degrees Celsius in Kattangoor. The IMD predicts light to moderate rains in Hyderabad for the next four days. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.8 degrees Celsius. With the arrival of the monsoon, the temperature is expected to range between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for the next four days.

    Usually, Telangana receives 738.6 mm of rainfall during the southwest monsoon. However, due to the delay in the onset of the monsoon, the rainfall for June until now is already deficient by 82 percent.
