In Rajasthan, there has been heavy rainfall and flooding for the past 36 hours because of cyclone Biparjoy. Many districts, such as Barmer, Sirohi, Banswara, Udaipur, Rajsamand, Pali, Ajmer, and Kota, have been affected by the heavy rains. Some areas have received 10 to 13 inches of rain so far.

Due to the breach of the Surava dam in Jalore district, several areas have been submerged. The Narmada Lift Canal has seen a rise in water level because of the dam breakage, which poses a significant threat to Sanchore city. The authorities have been alerted about the breach, and they are working to evacuate the entire city. Sanchore has a population of nearly 50,000 and is located approximately 15 km away from the dam.
