The Green Organisation from the UK has given five Green Apple awards to Telangana state. This is the first time any buildings or structures from India have received this award. Telangana is getting all five awards! The awards are for the Mozzam-Jahi Market (Heritage category), Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge (Bridge category), Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat Building (aesthetically designed Office/workspace building category), Integrated Command Control Centre of the state police (unique Office category), and Yadagirigutta Temple (excellent Religious structures category).
The state applied for the ‘International Green Apple Awards for Beautiful Buildings’ award under the Urban & Real Estate Sector, with support from the National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM). Arvind Kumar, the State MA&UD Secretary, said that it’s a proud moment for Telangana to receive these awards. The awards ceremony will take place on June 16 in London, and Arvind Kumar will receive these awards on behalf of the Government of Telangana.
