Citizens in Greater Hyderabad can now report problems like potholes, road side silt, and streetlight repairs at their nearest Ward Level Offices. The officers at these wards promise to fix the issue within a day or two. This is thanks to the State government’s decision to bring Municipal Corporation functioning closer to citizens through the concept of Ward Level Office administration.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced a new initiative called the Citizen’s Charter. This ensures that citizen’s grievances are solved on the same day, within 24 or 48 hours, or other time frames. The Citizen’s Charter offers 17 civic services provided by GHMC at the Ward Level Offices.

This Charter will be implemented in all newly announced Ward Offices, which will be inaugurated on Friday. The Charter guarantees that civic issues raised by the people are addressed within a specific time limit. It also allows citizens to choose the services they need.
