Cyclone Biparjoy has turned into an extremely severe cyclonic storm, which means there will be a lot of rain in Kerala for the next five days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for certain areas on June 11 and 12. Fishing has been banned across the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu until June 15 because of the strong winds.

According to the IMD, wind speeds will be around 40-50 kmph along and off the Saurashtra coast. This will increase to 45-55 kmph on Monday and gusting to 65 kmph. The wind speed may touch 50-60 kmph and gusting to 70 kmph. Fishermen in the sea have been advised to return to the coast and for people onshore and offshore to take precautions.

The IMD has advised state governments and district authorities to keep a close watch and monitor the situation regularly. They should also take appropriate precautionary measures.
