ABVP activists protested at the Intermediate Board office in Nampally on Wednesday. They had several demands which included stopping private and corporate colleges from overcharging Inter fees. They also wanted the government to improve facilities in its colleges and fill vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff.
The activists demanded that the government shut down unrecognized Inter colleges across the State. They also called for strong action against private colleges that break the board regulations. Additionally, they wanted institutions run by colleges in the name of academies, which mislead the government, to be closed. The activists also demanded books be supplied immediately to government colleges.
The ABVP activists want the mid-day meal scheme to be introduced as announced in 2015. They also want the immediate implementation of the Right to Education and the law to regulate fee structure.
