The University of Hyderabad celebrated World Environment Day 2023 on Monday. The theme for this year’s event was #BeatPlasticPollution and “Eco System Restoration.” This theme aims to remind people that plastic pollution is harmful to our oceans, soil, and forests. We need to use plastic more sustainably to prevent irreparable damage.
The Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and other faculty members planted saplings at the entrance of the University Guest House. They planted a type of sapling called “Bauhinia Acuminata.” The Department of Horticulture organized this plantation drive for World Environment Day.
It’s important for humanity to take responsibility for our plastic usage. By learning to use plastic more sustainably, we can work towards a future where plastic pollution is no longer a problem.
