Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of MIM, said on Wednesday that he will not support Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, in his fight against a Central ordinance. Kejriwal is seeking support from opposition leaders against the Centre’s ordinance on the control of services in the national capital. Owaisi said that he won’t support Kejriwal because he follows “hard Hindutva”, not just soft Hindutva.
Owaisi questioned Kejriwal’s previous support for the BJP on Article 370, which was revoked on August 5, 2019. Kejriwal had tweeted in support of the government’s decision to revoke Article 370, saying “We support the govt on its decisions on J&K. We hope this will bring peace and development in the state.”
Kejriwal has been meeting with various opposition leaders to seek their support against the Centre’s ordinance. He has already met with Uddhav Thackeray, K Chandrashekar Rao, Tejashwi Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, and Sitaram Yechury. He is also scheduled to meet with Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren soon.
