Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen used an artificial intelligence tool called ChatGPT to partially write her speech to parliament. Frederiksen stated that it was fascinating and terrifying to see what AI could do. ChatGPT is known for generating essays, poems, and conversations from minimal prompts. Although it has sparked billions of dollars of investment, critics and insiders have raised concerns about the possible flood of disinformation and biased algorithms that come with its use. The high-level meeting on trade between the United States and the European Union on Wednesday in Lulea, Sweden will discuss these issues, as well as the potential threat of “extinction” posed by the technology. Frederiksen’s speech contained several lines written by ChatGPT, but her regular speechwriters have yet to comment on its quality.
