    KT Rama Rao, the IT Minister and working president of the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, expressed his disapproval of the police action towards protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He took to Twitter to condemn the way the athletes were treated and asked why it had to be that way. KTR also stated that these champions brought glory to India on the world stage and deserve respect and support.

    The wrestlers were protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing him of sexually harassing female wrestlers. They had planned a ‘Mahila Samman Mahapanchayat’ or women’s assembly as part of their ongoing protest. Opposition parties such as Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and Trinamool Congress also condemned the police action.

    In summary, KTR spoke out against the treatment of protesting wrestlers by police in Delhi and called for respect and support for these champions who have brought glory to India on the world stage. The athletes were protesting against the WFI chief over sexual harassment allegations.
