Shaik Mohd Shahbaz, a traffic policeman at Bahadurpura traffic police station in Hyderabad, has received praise from netizens for performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a man who collapsed suddenly on the road. The incident happened on Friday evening when Shahbaz was clearing traffic on Puranapul Bridge. He noticed a man in his 30s on an Activa collapsing on the road. Shahbaz rushed to the man and pulled him to the side of the road. The man was struggling to breathe and sweating, so Shahbaz performed CPR on him. The man finally responded and left for the hospital in an auto-rickshaw.
A video of Shahbaz’s actions has gone viral on social media platforms, drawing praise from citizens. Shahbaz credits his senior officers for imparting basic medical training to help people, which he was able to utilize in this situation.
Similarly, on February 24, a traffic police constable in Rajendranagar limits received praise from netizens and Health Minister T Harish Rao for saving a man who suffered a heart attack. A Twitter user shared a video of the constable, Rajashekar, performing CPR on an unconscious man. The public nearby supported Rajashekar, and the video was tagged to Cyberabad traffic police and the health minister, who praised the constable’s efforts in saving a common man’s life.
