Rohit Sharma Injures Left Hand Before WTC Final as GT Faces MI in Qualifier 2

Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians, injured his left thumb while trying to catch a ball during their IPL 2023 playoffs against Gujarat Titans. He left the field and was seen icing his hand, but later returned to bat during Mumbai Indians’ chase. However, he was dismissed for just eight runs. Suryakumar Yadav led the team in Rohit’s absence. Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green, Rohit’s teammates, also suffered injuries during the match. Kishan collided with Chris Jordan and did not return to bat, while Green was hit on the left elbow by a delivery from Hardik Pandya. Despite the injuries, Green came out to bat later in the innings. The WTC final between India and Australia will be played at The Oval in London from June 7.
