Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday. During a joint press briefing, Modi raised concerns about recent attacks on temples in Australia, and Albanese assured him that strict actions would be taken against those responsible. Modi emphasized that such actions could harm the friendly ties between India and Australia, and thanked Albanese for the actions already taken.

Modi and Albanese had previously discussed the issue of attacks on temples and separatist activities. Albanese stated that Australia is a country that respects people’s faith and does not tolerate extreme actions or attacks on religious buildings, including Hindu temples, mosques, synagogues, or churches. He added that anyone responsible for such activities would face the full force of the law in Australia.
