    Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Australia and addressed a community event at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. Over 21,000 people attended the event, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, ministers, and local officials, among others. Modi announced that India would open a consulate in Brisbane to fulfill the long-pending demand by the diaspora. During his speech, Modi highlighted the strengthening bond between India and Australia, citing examples of yoga, cricket, films, and the cooking show ‘Masterchef’. He emphasized that mutual trust and mutual respect were the strongest and biggest foundations of India-Australia relations. Modi also talked about the depth of the relation between India and Australia transcending these C, D, E.

    Modi mentioned that despite geographical distances, the Indian Ocean connects India and Australia. He also talked about how different lifestyles are in both countries, but yoga and cricket connect us. Modi said that India has made record exports even in the most challenging times and is withstanding global headwinds. India has the world’s biggest and youngest talent factory, according to Modi. He also mentioned that last year when Aussie spin bowler Shane Warne died, hundreds of Indians were mourning, and our friendship is deep off the field as well.
