    Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya spoke at the 100th birth anniversary celebration of NT Rama Rao in Hyderabad on Saturday. He said that NTR was a famous actor and former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh. He was known for his historical mythological films and living an honest and disciplined life. NTR was also famous for removing the Patel Patwari system and forming mandals for the decentralisation of administration. His legacy lives on through his schemes like Rs 2 per kg rice. NTR is recognized for bringing recognition to Telugu people and removing the label of “Madrasis.”

    TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu said that NTR had a significant impact on Telugu society. His birthday is celebrated in America as “Telugu Heritage Day” on May 28th. TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna spoke about NTR’s development works, including forming a University for women and eradicating the Devadasi and Jogini systems. He also brought water to Krishna Hyderabad from Nagarjunsagar.

    Film producer Narayana Murthy expressed disappointment that NTR was not honored with Bharat Ratna by the Centre.
