Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra is set to compete in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland on June 13. This will be his third competition of the season after winning gold in the Diamond League series in Doha on May 5. Before the Paavo Nurmi Games, he will participate in the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in the Netherlands on June 4.
Chopra will face off against German star Johannes Vetter, Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, Julian Weber of Germany, and Lassi Etelatolo of Finland. Chopra finished second in the World Championships in Eugene, USA, with a throw of 89.94 meters after winning silver in the Paavo Nurmi Games last year with a throw of 89.30 meters.
The Paavo Nurmi Games is a World Athletics Continental Tour gold-level meet.
