A truck collided with an auto-rickshaw in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district near the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border on May 17. Six people died and six others were injured in the accident. The victims were tribals who came from Telangana and were going to work as agriculture workers in Palnadu district. The truck driver fled the scene but was later found by police. The injured were taken to a hospital in Gurazala. The victims hailed from Narsapur village of Damaracherla mandal in Telangana’s Nalgonda district. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his condolences and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the deceased families and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.
