Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao played kabaddi with players taking part in the CM KCR Cup in Mahabubabad district. At a party gathering, the minister expressed confidence that the BRS party would win in the next elections. He stated that surveys showed that the BRS led by K Chandrashekar Rao would win later in the year. The minister also criticised the BJP and TPCC presidents, saying they were not trustworthy leaders whom people could count on.
The minister further stated that Palakurthi constituency had experienced tremendous development and that he expected to win with a majority of at least 80,000 votes. Additionally, he said that Palakurthi, Valmidi and Bammera would become tourist hotspots due to ongoing developmental activities. The government has allocated Rs 200 crore for Thorrur town’s development, which includes a tank bund and 24-hour uninterrupted drinking water supply.
In another program, the minister inaugurated the Panchayat Raj’s sub-division office in Thorrur. He said that the government had developed 3,146 thandas and gudems into gram panchayats and initiated several developmental programs to make them self-reliant. The minister added that the national awards Telangana received from the Union Panchayati Raj Ministry showed the kind of development happening in rural areas.
Lastly, the minister criticised the BJP and Congress parties for not implementing welfare schemes like Telangana in states they govern. He cited the BJP’s 2014 manifesto, which pledged to better people’s lives, but instead raised prices on essential commodities, including LPG cylinders, and made life harder for ordinary people.
