Gujarat Titans have become the first team to qualify for the play-offs in the ongoing IPL 2023 edition. They achieved this after a 34-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shubman Gill smashed his maiden IPL century, scoring 101 off just 58 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six. He was partnered with Sai Sudharsan, who added 47 off 36 balls. The partnership helped Gujarat Titans reach 188 for nine despite a late comeback by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar (5/30).

Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled with the bat and were unable to keep up with the required run rate. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were restricted to 154 for nine. Heinrich Klaasen contributed with 66 off 44 balls, while Mohammed Shami (4/21) and Mohit Sharma (4/28) picked up four wickets each, shining with the ball for Gujarat Titans.
