The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, gave a cash award to two chess players on Monday. He gave Rs 2.50 crore to Chess Grandmaster Praneeth and Rs 50 lakh to another champion, Nandita. Praneeth is only 16 years old and has qualified for the ‘World Chess Federation Grandmaster’ rank. The Chief Minister congratulated Praneeth and his parents for their hard work and dedication. He also gave Rs 2.50 crore to Praneeth to help him with training expenses.
KCR hopes that Praneeth will continue to excel in chess and bring more fame to Telangana and India. The Chief Minister also congratulated Veerlapalli Nandita, who is 19 years old, for being recognized as a ‘Woman Candidate Master’ by the World Chess Federation. KCR gave Nandita Rs 50 lakh to help her with advanced training and other expenses.
