Delhi Capitals’ David Warner scored 54 runs off 27 balls, but his team could only manage 135 for 8, losing the game and their chance to enter the playoffs.
Punjab Kings have 12 points in 12 games, just outside the top four, and need to win their next two matches to keep their playoff hopes alive. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are out of contention for the playoffs.
In other IPL news, Faf du Plessis of Royal Challengers Bangalore holds the orange cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament so far, with a total of 576 runs in 11 matches. Rashid Khan of Gujarat Titans leads the purple cap list for taking the most wickets in the tournament, with an economy of 8.04 in 12 matches.
