Suresh Raina, a former Chennai Super Kings cricketer, praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for his excellent performance in the IPL 2023. Jaiswal scored the fastest fifty of the season in just 13 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders and has scored 575 runs in 12 matches. Raina said he would have drafted Jaiswal directly into India’s 2023 ODI World Cup squad if he was a selector.

Jaiswal’s unbeaten 98 off 47 balls helped Rajasthan Royals win by nine wickets against KKR. Raina compared Jaiswal’s playing style to former Indian explosive opener Virender Sehwag. Jaiswal hit 12 fours and five sixes at an excellent strike rate of 208.51.
