The Hyderabad City Traffic police have been cracking down on people who have fitted their vehicles with sirens. They have booked 1,557 cases in the last 12 days and removed any illegally fitted sirens. The High Court has ordered the police to take strict action against those breaking the laws related to horns and to confiscate any siren or multi-toned horns.

If anyone is found breaking rule 119 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, the Hyderabad Traffic Police will file a criminal case against them. The Traffic Police have requested that vehicle owners, especially those with cars and SUVs, do not fit or use sirens. They also want car décor owners to know that fitting sirens or multi-toned horns is a violation of section 52 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
