There was a fight between police officers and wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday. The wrestlers are protesting and there is a disagreement between them and the police about what happened. The wrestlers are angry and have threatened to return their medals and awards, including Padma Shri, to the government. There is also a court case involving women wrestlers who have accused Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. The Supreme Court has closed the case because FIRs have been filed by the Delhi Police against Singh and the complainants have been given security. The wrestlers are still protesting and want Singh to be arrested. Some of the wrestlers claim they were abused and pushed by male police officers during the fight. One wrestler, Bajrang Punia, said they might return all their medals and awards if this is how they will be treated.
Political slugfest erupts as blame game intensifies.
