TSRTC chairman and BRS MLA Bajireddy Govardhan criticized BJP State unit president Bandi Sanjay for his rude comments about the Telangana government’s response to the needs of farmers affected by rain. Govardhan spoke at a press conference on Wednesday and expressed his disappointment with the way Sanjay speaks. He believes that Sanjay’s language is not appropriate for someone holding such an important position in a national political party. He also mentioned that Sanjay often speaks irresponsibly and uses vulgar language that is not acceptable in civilized society.

Govardhan accused Sanjay of politicizing the issue of farmers who suffered heavy crop losses due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms. He challenged Sanjay to show how much compensation is being offered to farmers in BJP-ruled states, claiming that in such states, farmers who lost their crops due to unseasonal rains were not compensated at all. Meanwhile, in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced an ex gratia of Rs.10,000 per acre to each farmer after inspecting the damaged crops in districts, and Finance Minister Harish Rao has already released Rs.151 crores for this purpose.

Govardhan suggested that instead of criticizing the Telangana government, Sanjay should ask the central government for an additional Rs 10,000 for Telangana farmers who lost their crops due to unseasonal rains.
