The Integrated Development Agency (ITDA) in Utnoor, Adilabad is helping the indigenous tribes of Adilabad by promoting their handicrafts. The ITDA created a logo to promote the crafts and make them more visible to potential buyers. The initiative includes a gift pack with handmade decorative items and food products made by the tribals. The gift pack includes items such as brass display idols, Gondi art paintings, wild processed honey, ready-to-eat millets, and mahua laddus in a carton box or jute bag.

The Dokra brass craft and Gond paintings already have a Geographical Indication (GI) tag. The Dokra metalcraft is a time-honored tradition of making metal objects through lost-wax casting. The Ojha craft smiths from Jharkhand and Odisha create pieces such as elephants, peacocks, horses, deer, and other figurines from premium brass or bronze. Each piece takes an extensive amount of time and effort to create.

The ITDA Jobs District Manager, BNagabhushan, said that the initiative provides a platform for the tribal communities to exhibit their products. The tribals have remote access to the market, so this will help them gain traction with a wider public. The ITDA Project Officer and Nirmal district Collector, KVarun Reddy, identified several artisans who were sent to Bastar region in Chhattisgarh for training to learn new skills in finishing their products. This helped them enhance the value of their products.

The ITDA plans to exhibit the handmade products by tribals in various platforms such as the upcoming G20 summit, Numaish exhibition in Nampally, T-Hub, We Hub, and others. This will aid in the economic development of the tribals once they have access to the market. Foreign delegates visiting the country will be impressed by the work made by the tribals.
