Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Maiden Century Puts Him on Level with Jos Buttler in IPL 2023
In the 1,000th match of the Indian Premier League, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a stunning maiden century, scoring 124 runs from just 62 balls. Jaiswal hit 16 fours and eight sixes, single-handedly powering Rajasthan Royals to a big total of 212/7 against Mumbai Indians. This is the third consecutive total in excess of 200 that Mumbai Indians have conceded this season.
Jaiswal has been in great form throughout IPL 2023, with his last four innings reading 124 against Mumbai Indians, 77 against Chennai Super Kings, 47 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, and 44 against Lucknow Super Giants. With this century, Jaiswal equalled his opening partner Jos Buttler for the highest individual score for Rajasthan Royals. Buttler had scored 124 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021.
After his innings, Jaiswal stated that he had enjoyed every part of his innings and had planned and executed his shots well. He also mentioned that he had worked a lot on his batting skills with Zubin sir throughout the season. Jaiswal is determined to keep going and contribute as much as he can to the team.
