India has announced its squad for the World Test Championship final, which is set to take place in just over a month. There has been speculation about who will keep wickets during the game, and some have wondered if former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni might come out of retirement for the occasion. When asked about this possibility, former India coach Ravi Shastri said that it could have been considered. Shastri praised Dhoni’s performance in the Indian Premier League, saying that he has shown up many young keepers in the country despite not playing first-class cricket. However, Shastri also noted that Dhoni is unlikely to return to Test cricket, as he is not driven by statistics and prefers to give way to new players.

The match will be played at the Oval starting on June 7.
