A Turkish evacuation plane was fired at while landing in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum. The plane didn’t suffer any damage and landed at Wadi Seidna where authorities carried out checks. The Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) blamed each other for the incident. The RSF denied shooting at the Turkish plane and claimed to be committed to the humanitarian truce.

The rival military factions have recently decided to extend the ceasefire, but international news outlets report that fights haven’t subsided, and the truce isn’t being followed. The death toll due to fighting in Sudan has crossed 500, and thousands have been injured.

Turkish evacuation efforts will continue from both Wadi Seidna and the city of Port Sudan on the Red Sea coast. The aim of the ceasefire is to give people, foreigners, and Sudanese people time to flee to safety.
