Chennai Super Kings lost to Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bat first, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler scoring 62 runs in the power-play, setting the base for them to post 202/5. In response, Chennai could only make 42 runs in the power-play and ended up at 170/6, losing by 32 runs.
Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming admitted that Rajasthan was great at home and got a better start to the game. Fleming also felt that Chennai’s bowlers conceding extra runs in the fag end hurt them, apart from being kept on a tight leash in power-play by Rajasthan’s bowling attack. Chennai’s next game in IPL 2023 will be at home against Punjab Kings.
