Mark Wood, an England pacer, believes that Jofra Archer will be fit and prepared to participate in the Ashes beginning on June 16. Despite suffering back and elbow injuries in the last two years, Archer made a comeback to international cricket in 2023 after undergoing several operations. He is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 but missed four matches due to an elbow niggle. Wood has faith that Archer will recover from this setback and be ready for the Ashes, and that England will take care of him mentally and physically.
Wood also expressed confidence in England’s ability to compete against Australia in the Ashes, citing their 3-0 series win in Pakistan last year. He believes that the team is capable of achieving great things and that whoever gets selected will give their best effort to bring the Ashes back to England. The first Ashes Test will be held at Edgbaston, followed by matches at Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and The Oval.
