The Planning Board Vice Chairman in Hyderabad spoke at a press conference, criticizing Amit Shah for spreading lies about Telangana state. He asked why the BJP State leaders couldn’t see how much the Central government was cheating Telangana state. The Vice Chairman noted that Telangana has developed quickly and urged the Saffron party leaders to show a state that was good and he would visit that. He also refuted Amit Shah’s claims that Centre gave Rs 1,20,000 Crore to the state under various grants to the state, saying that not even a fourth of it was funded.

Vinod Kumar also stated that the development taking place in Telangana state was nowhere seen in BJP ruled states. He said that politics is different from development and that the welfare of the people and development of the state is important. Vinod Kumar claimed that people were wondering whether they had come to Hyderabad or to Singapore.

He brought up road cess payments as well. Telangana state paid road cess of Rs 39,186 Crores to the Centre as road cess in eight years, but the Centre only paid Rs 34,000 Crores. This means that the Centre still owes Rs 5,000 Crore to the state government. Vinod Kumar also alleged that Amit Shah made many baseless allegations against the state government.
