The BRS party suspended two leaders, Jupally Krishna Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, for being undisciplined. The party feels that their suspension could affect at least ten constituencies in the Mahbubnagar and Khammam districts. Both leaders have a strong support base not only in their own constituencies but also in nearby ones, regardless of party affiliation.

Jupally Krishna Rao, a former minister, may impact nearby constituencies like Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, and Achampet. He already showed his influence in the local body elections after losing in the Assembly elections. Similarly, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy may have an impact over six to seven Assembly segments in Khammam. He announced that he will ensure BRS candidates do not win any seat in erstwhile Khammam district.

The party leaders have taken a calculated decision to suspend the two leaders, as they have other leaders to save their seats. The party working president KT Rama Rao will take over the responsibility of winning the majority of seats in Khammam. It is not clear where the two leaders will go, but they may opt for Congress. They are waiting to see what happens in the Karnataka elections.
