A three-year-old boy died after a boulder fell on his head in Katukuri village. The boulder fell from the roof of a house while a herd of monkeys were playing and jumping on it. The boy, Devunuri Abhinav, was playing outside when the boulder hit him and he died instantly.
This is not the first time the village has had trouble with monkeys. The villagers have been suffering for a long time and are demanding that the authorities take action to control the monkey population.

Sadly, Abhinav had already recovered from a life-threatening injury six months ago. He had fallen on a knife that pierced his throat, but his parents were able to save him with a costly surgery that cost Rs.5 lakh.
