The area around the intersection where the incident occurred is temporarily closed due to the ongoing investigation. Harris and Emhoff were not at the residence at the time of the incident.
The Naval Observatory is located in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC, about two miles northwest of the White House. It is tightly secured by the Secret Service. The investigation is ongoing.
