YS Bhaskar Reddy has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the murder of Vivekananda Reddy. This has caused concern for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who held an emergency meeting with key leaders of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to discuss the situation. YS Avinash Reddy, Kadapa MP and son of YS Bhaskar Reddy, has been summoned for questioning, and anticipates arrest in the case. He has approached the Telangana High Court for anticipatory bail.
Jagan’s maternal uncle and TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy, YSRCP general secretary and government advisor on political affairs Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and others attended the meeting held at Jagan’s official residence. MLA Bhaskar Reddy has briefed Jagan on the talks he had with Avinash Reddy. The chief minister had cancelled his visit to Anantapur district on Monday in view of Sunday’s developments in the murder case.
Vivekananda Reddy, paternal uncle of Jagan Mohan Reddy, was murdered at his residence in Pulivendula of Kadapa district on March 15, 2019, a few days before Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
