The state government of Hyderabad will give an award in honor of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar. The award will be given to those who do public service at national and state level every year. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made the announcement on Friday after a public meeting where Dr. Ambedkar’s statue was unveiled.
To fund the award, the government will put Rs 51 crore in the bank and use the interest of around Rs 3 crore earned each year to present the awards.
