KT Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, has accused Adani and the Prime Minister of destroying the Telugu States’ wealth by allocating the Bailadila Iron ore mine to private companies, neglecting the Vizag Steel Plant and proposed Bayyaram Steel Plant. He challenged opposition party leaders to file a defamation case if his claims were wrong. Rao alleged that the Centre had allocated the mine, which it had previously deemed substandard, to Bailadila Iron Ore Private Ltd, a subsidiary company owned by the Adani group. He also questioned why the iron ore was not considered suitable for VSP and Bayyaram. The minister called on the Centre to cancel Adani’s mining contract and give it to Singareni, and for Bailadila to become a captive mine of VSP and Bayyaram. Rao also confirmed the government’s commitment to open Nizam Sugar Factory provided farmers come forward to run it.
