Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders in Hyderabad have accused former minister Jupally Krishna Rao and former MP Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy of continuing anti-party activities in an attempt to weaken the party. The comments were made at a press conference by agriculture minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, MP Pothuganti Ramulu, MLA Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy, and MLC Kasireddy NarayanReddy. Both Jupally and Ponguleti have been suspended from the party on the orders of party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Minister Niranjan Reddy criticised the pair for their behaviour, stating that it goes against party discipline. He added that the party would not bow to individuals and risk the party for one or two people. He also questioned why they would remain in the party if there was no development.

Reddy also accused Jupally of being given preference in the party despite joining 11 years after its establishment. He alleged that many who were with the party from the beginning had been sidelined, and that Jupally only cared about himself. He claimed that Jupally had given opportunities to rebels instead of the BRS party cadre during local elections.

Ponguleti, meanwhile, was criticised for not having a role in the Telangana movement despite joining the party after its formation. Reddy claimed that people in Khammam knew what he had done in the party and why he hadn’t received any opportunities.

The BRS minister also accused both ex-members of criticising the party in a similar manner to those who had come from Andhra Pradesh and started a new party recently. Jupally had recently met with YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader YS Sharmila amid reports that he was planning to join the party.
