Eatala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, has dismissed the recent protest call by the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) employees as misleading propaganda. The employees had called for a three-day strike in protest against the privatization of coal mines. However, Rajender stated that the government has no plans to privatize SCCL and that the strike call was based on false information spread by some vested interests.
In a press conference, Rajender clarified that the government has only proposed to allow private companies to participate in coal mining through a transparent bidding process. He added that this move would create more job opportunities and increase competition, leading to better efficiency and productivity in the sector. He assured the employees that their jobs and benefits would not be affected by this decision.
Rajender also criticized the opposition parties for politicizing the issue and creating fear among the employees. He urged the employees to not fall for such propaganda and assured them that the government is committed to their welfare. He stated that the government is open to discussions with the employees and their representatives to address any concerns they may have. In conclusion, Rajender emphasized that the government’s decision to allow private participation in coal mining is a step towards making Telangana a leading state in the country’s industrial growth.
