Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, a senior Congress leader from Telangana, has been waiting for a response from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) regarding his request for membership in the Congress Working Committee (CWC). Despite several attempts to get a response from the AICC, Reddy’s request remains unanswered, leaving him and his supporters disappointed. Reddy has been a vocal critic of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and has been fighting for the rights of farmers and other marginalized sections of society in the state.

Reddy’s request for CWC membership is not just a personal matter, but it also reflects the aspirations of many Congress workers in Telangana who feel neglected by the party leadership. The Congress party in Telangana has been struggling to regain its lost ground ever since the formation of the state in 2014. The party suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2018 assembly elections, winning only 19 out of 119 seats. Since then, many senior leaders have left the party, and there is a growing sense of disillusionment among the rank and file.

Reddy’s request for CWC membership is seen as a way to give a voice to the concerns of Congress workers in Telangana and to revive the party’s fortunes in the state. However, the lack of response from the AICC has raised questions about the party’s commitment to its grassroots workers. It is also seen as a reflection of the internal power struggles within the party. Reddy’s supporters have threatened to take to the streets if their leader’s request is not granted soon. The coming days will be crucial for the Congress party in Telangana as it tries to regain its relevance in the state’s politics.
