The Vemulawada Rural Police Station in Rajanna Sirisilla district recently launched the “Thana Divas” programme, a new initiative aimed at addressing security issues and complaints at the field level in villages. The programme received an overwhelming response, with 53 applications submitted during the first session. SP Akhil Mahajan, who oversaw the programme, directed officials to take immediate action to address the problems raised by the applicants.

During the launch, SP Akhil Mahajan explained that the “Thana Divas” programme was organized to bring the police closer to the people. The programme allowed individuals to voice their concerns and complaints, while officials were ordered to investigate criminal cases and register FIRs. Those who encroached on land by terrorizing residents were also charged with criminal cases.
