The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Secretary, Mohd Saleem, criticized the Telangana BJP President, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, for his objectionable remarks during the festivities. Saleem stated that Kumar was not aware of the culture and tradition in Hyderabad and that people of all religions in Hyderabad respect each other’s festivals, including Ramazan, Bakrid, Dassera, Deepawali, Christmas, and Baisakhi. During the festival season, all shops and establishments remain open irrespective of religion, locality or area, and all traders benefit regardless of their religion. Targeting a particular community or religion is unfortunate and goes against the society’s peace and tranquility in the region and the nation’s development. Saleem suggested that instead of spreading hatred and venom in society, the BJP should work towards the welfare and betterment of the people.
