The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana vice-president, NVSS Prabhakar, has demanded that the government implements the Dalit Bandhu scheme without any political bias. Prabhakar has alleged that the scheme has become BRS Bandhu and that the government is preparing a list of beneficiaries based on political affiliations. He has begun a 24-hour dharna in his Assembly Constituency in Uppal to support his demand.

Prabhakar has stated that the scheme should benefit every needy and poor Dalit in the state, as opposed to only those affiliated with the BRS party. He has accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of violating the spirit of the constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar, who took an oath that his government would not work in a biased manner or favor nepotism. Prabhakar has called for the implementation of the scheme to be free from any political bias to ensure that its benefits reach every poor Dalit in the state.
