Ramchandra Poudel, the newly elected President of Nepal, has been admitted to the Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu after experiencing stomach pain. He was admitted on Saturday and is currently under observation. Poudel won the Presidential election last month on March 13th after receiving 33,802 electoral votes from members of the Federal Parliament and provincial assemblies. His opponent, Subash Chandra Nembang, received 15,518 electoral votes. Poudel is a former parliament speaker and senior leader of the opposition Nepali Congress party.
