On Sunday, a group of farmers’ leaders from Maharashtra, including Sharad Joshi and Praneeth, joined the BRS party in Telangana. They were taken to Kaleshwaram and other sites to showcase the development in the state. Chief Minister Rao welcomed the leaders and had an interactive meeting with them. He expressed his commitment to fighting for justice for farmers during his five decades of political life.

The BRS chief highlighted the abundance of water in Telangana’s rivers and irrigation projects, which has resulted in paddy being grown in 56 lakh acres of land in the state alone. He encouraged the farmers to observe the development in Telangana and appreciate the determination of the government.

The Chief Minister also addressed the lack of support for farmers from India’s Prime Ministers, including Narendra Modi. He criticized the lack of sympathy for the farmers who died during the 13-month-long protest against the three farm laws. While Modi apologized before elections in UP and Punjab, the Chief Minister urged farmers to continue their protests and fight for their rights.

During a closed-door meeting with farmer leaders, the BRS chief discussed strategies for the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra. He encouraged farmers to persuade people to vote for BRS for schemes similar to those in Telangana.
