The national BJP chief, JP Nadda, addressed party activists on Friday and virtually inaugurated district party offices in five areas of Telangana. During his speech, Nadda criticized the Telangana government, stating that it has earned an image of corruption and bribery, which he referred to as ‘BhrashtacharRishwat Sarkar’ or BRS. He also highlighted the state’s debt of Rs 3.29 lakh crore, which is a significant increase since its bifurcation from united Andhra Pradesh.

Nadda further criticized the state’s government by mentioning the recent liquor scam that led to the summoning of the Chief Minister’s daughter by the Enforcement Directorate. He stated that such incidents have tarnished the state’s image. Despite this, Nadda acknowledged that the Centre has been supporting Telangana’s development. He cited examples such as the increase in national highways and railway allocation, and the UNESCO tag awarded to Ramappa temple, which brought recognition to the state.

However, Nadda also highlighted that Telangana is ridden with scams, and all irrigation projects are being used as ATMs. He emphasized that changing the name from TRS to BRS would not make any difference, as people of Telangana are aware of the game being played. He added that work and character need to be changed, not just the name.

Finally, Nadda listed various welfare schemes under the Swacha Bharat Mission, Kisan Samman Yojana, Ujwala, PM Awas Yojana, and others that are being extended to various sections of people.
