The Dr MCR HRD Institute in Hyderabad recently hosted a day-long Food and Fun Festival called “Bharath Bhojnam”. The festival was organized by 112 Trainee Central Civil Services Officers from various parts of India who are attending a Special Foundation Course at the Institute. The Officer Trainees showcased their talents in cooking and marketing by offering a wide variety of delicacies unique to different States of the country. All profits generated from the festival will be donated to a charitable cause.
The Officer Trainees added to the glamour quotient of the event by dressing up in traditional attires and jewelry from various States, creating a Mini-India atmosphere in the Institute’s Campus. The festival was a part of the learning process at the Institute and helped Officer Trainees learn valuable lessons in budgeting, leadership, interpersonal skills, group dynamics, and more.
The event was inaugurated by Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, IAS, DG of the Institute and Principal Secretary, who released colorful balloons in the air. He emphasized that the event provided a rare opportunity for Officer Trainees to understand the challenges involved in planning and successfully establishing micro and tiny enterprises, especially by people belonging to weaker sections of society.
